Happiness
July 17- JULY 19, 2007 "People universally tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will descend upon you like fine weather if you're fortunate enough. But that's not how happiness works. Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes travel the around the world looking for it....Once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it, you must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it"
— Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)
hi susan!
I apologize for my absence but sometimes life becomes so overly congested, and as you know, in times such as that, the outdoors and the sanctuary you have created there are the best place to be :)
Your gardens look amazing, they truly do, and how beautiful the family and friends you are able to surround yourself with.
That is always the toughest part of relocating thousands of miles... you miss everyone and tend to spend a season as a loner.
I look forward to the day (soon!) when I will have blocks of time to wander, to have coffee with a friend, and to forge new friendships.
I'm thinking of you today with much love.
xoxo
