Here is a belated entry for Illustration Friday. I am having trouble downloading photos on my mac. I think I accidently changed a setting but cannot figure out what I did to be able to fix it.

LIVE LOVE LAUGH

Okay so far so good in the school department. All children appear happy but extremely tired and I have filled out and returned all the required paper work.
I decided to work with the words LIVE LOVE LAUGH for Inspire Me Thursday. As I painted late into the late, I did not pay heed to what I was actually doing. This morning I realized i painted two pictures with the word LOVE. I guess the laugh is my mistake.The pictures on the right was supposed to have the word LAUGH because this picture reminded me of the saying Gods laughs with flowers.

SUMMER EVENING/STUDIO FRIDAY

Inspire Me Thursday

Here is my entry for this weeks Inspire Me Thursday creative challenge WATERCOLORS. I interpreted watercolor to mean any paint that was water soluble.

Where is my watercolor painting

Yesterday i walked into my studio prepared to play with my paints for Inspire me Thursday and look what transpired..
I decided it was imperative that i organize my studio and the only way to do that was to put everything that was on a shelf or in a cabinet on the floor. I also enjoyed moments of nostalgia as I sorted through box after box. I was elated when I discovered my postcards of my favorite rock groups (Talking Heads, David Bowie, Dire Straits etc.) I bought in London over twenty years when i spent 6 weeks backpacking Europe with Susan( who is still a best friend today). Now I almost got up in search of those photo albums but decided I needed to stay focused.

In this last picture you can see the painting I was supposed to be working on laying on the floor encircled by my "studio chaos".
I always find it difficult in the time before school starts to stay focused. I guess, the majority of my mental, emotional and physical energy is being used to help four children get organized for school. This year each child is in a different school with different schedules. I fear it will be a year of mixing up teachers, schedules, homework assignments etc. I just pray by days end that Allison, PJ, Megan, and Justin are each fast asleep in their own bed.

DNA

Here is my belated entry for Inspire Me Thursday.

When I thought about the term DNA the first image that came to mind was one of my children. Why are my children the way they are? Where do certain characteristics come from.......are they from my DNA, my husbands DNA? I love the discussions Pat and i have when we both try to take credit for the good parts of our children and blame the other for the not so good parts.

STUDIO FRIDAY

I am finally back home after being gone for a month. I was able to photograph my favorite item in my studio. This my entry for studio friday, my favorite item in my studio. The item is my beautiful mirror top table which is not practical I simple love the table.
