I love the ocean and spending days at the beach watching my children build sand castles. Since I do not have all my art supplies with me I am spending my creative efforts learning the ins and outs of this new computer. This is my first image download. So far I have not run into any major problems.
I apologize for any spelling errors, since I switched computers the typepad spell check has disappeared. This is a tragedy since my spelling capabilities are extremely limited.
Here is my first entry for studio friday and my first post from my new computer(laptop). I bought the mac notebook. I guess I like to challenge myself on a daily basis because I have never worked with a mac.
I love the question "what inspires me?". My last several months have been filled with inspiration. Starting with this blog and connecting with other creative blogs. Thank goodness for the following interactive creative sites. These sites keep me creating and posting my creations on a routine basis. I love viewing what others have created.
1.Green Pepper Press Street Team from Michelle Ward www.michelleward.typepad.com
2.Inspire me Thursday www.inspiremethursday.com
3. Studio Friday www.studiofriday.net
Thank you for all the kind feedback I received from my BOLD posting for inspire me Thursday.
Wow I did not realize there were so many turtles fans in the art world. I live in Maryland and have grown up in a family that loves University of Maryland athletics especially basketball. " Fear The Turtle" is a common slogan around this house.
It is a quite a thrill to see how many people have viewed my blog. It is also slightly daunting as I feel I shouldn't post an image that is not perfect. But that is not possible because working with digital images is not an easy task (for me). I am frequently humbled when I try a new idea with my computer and am constantly muttering, "I could paint it faster!"
I have had lots of fun today playing in http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/ making these mosaics. Since I already have an account with flickr it was so simple to down load my photos for these designs. But the hours have disappeared, I am thankful it is Sunday and I have time to play.
Here is my entry for http://www.inspiremethursday.com/ . I used a photo I had taken of my dogs lounging in the sun. I mounted the photo on a canvas. I then added the architectural embellishments and finally paint. I love the fact you cannot tell where the photo ends and the painting begins. I titled the painting CHAOS. I loved how peaceful and serene the dogs appeared basking in the suns light. The irony of the title is that the dogs are usually running, barking, digging holes etc..... creating chaos.
